cool.. if i was not such a wuss i might try it icon_wink.gif
Mr Magoo
i know- its a big risk if you srew up!

well there are overclocking options

you can unlock your cpu or you can do the fsb

fsb is safer because you can still rma your parts if the fry. Unlocking may mean higher speeds

you choose in the end

I did it,2 tries and wow it works good.
But if you screw up?? by,by chip
Mr Magoo
yeah its a good idea- easyfsb is a great program...

heres a AMDxp paint guide.... http://www.ocinside.de/index_e.html?/html/...p/workshop.html and there are some voltage mods there too. The paint guide overclocks via the bridges on the AMDxp chips icon_twisted.gif <---I like that icon, dunno why??

FSB OCing is a lot harder on athlons because the system becomes heaps more unstable...... unlocking isn't hard...... I just did my t/b last night witha conductive pen....... if I can do it anyone can do it..... with the XP all you have to do is fil in the trenches!!!! The real hard part is taking the HS off without killing the chip or mobo icon_biggrin.gif

FSB overclocking isn't that hard if you have good quality components. I never unlocked my XP1500 and had the FSB running at 163, and even hit 170 for a little while with the default multiplier. You just need good components and good cooling.
Mr Magoo
ah.. my theory? i belive all chips are underclocked; they are infact the same chip, yet the FSB settings are just changed..

filling in the trenches isnt as easy as 123
if done wrong u can blow ur chip
amd have tried a bit harder to stop ocing on the xps you just need to take you time and have a steady hand icon_twisted.gif
