Mister 4x4
OK - so I'll start this out.

Here's the daily driver - 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4. Club Cab SLT Laramie package - which means 'loaded extended cab.'

Here's the wife's car - 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GT. Just dumped a K&N Filtecharger into it this evening.

And finally, the one that everyone knows about because I talk constantly about how cool I think this piece of junk really is - 1980 Jeep CJ-7.

OK Peeps - let's see 'em. Whatcha Drivin'?

2003 Turbo Beetle

the stabilzation program is superb in the rain, snow and ice

and 2003 Honda CR-V EX-4ED with all available options

Soon to have 5 brand new Michelin Hydra Series (absolute top of line) to replace the phuccing horrible and DANGEROUS Bridgestone/Firestone TRASH!!!!

Blew out on my wife at 75 MPH!!! The entire sidewall ripped!!!! completely separated from the outer tire!!

I, personally ONLY recommed and use Michelin. My father has used them all his life and so has my entire family and NONE of us has had ANY blow-out OR even FLATS!!! out of at lease a HUNDRED of their tires with average lifespans of 160,000 miles.

Can't beat the INVENTORS of the pneumatic tire

Just so you all know, I am the 15th child in my family and we all own multiple cars.

Yup, it's basically the VW Golf chassis, Audi A3 interior and the Audi TT 1.8ltr motor.

John Dunlop from Ayrshire Scotland invented the pneumatic tyre

I used to work for VW... that is a Volkswagen 1.8 Turbo sir.... not really an Audi as Audi IS WHOLLY owned by Volkswagen AG.

It is highly tweaked but so is the 200+ HP Turbo Beetle Type S

NOT the way Michelin did it!!!

Research it. Dunlop's were made in segments. Yuk. That was a horrid nightmare. The Michelin on the other hand, had NO inner tubes and sealed directly against the wheel. This is now how ALL tires are.

Therefore, they are the TRUE inventors and THE ABSOLUTE BEST tires known to mankind.
Jason
There can only be one inventor of the pneumatic tyre and its John Dunlop you cannot invent it twice only modify the creation afterwards.

Every tyre company has made modifications to the original invention.

Again its individual choice as to which tyre you prefer there is and never will be no absolute best, if there was we would all buy that and the rest of the manufacturers would go bankrupt.

Brigestone / Goodyear are the F1 tyres and this year I believe Ferrari have chosen Bridgestone as their tyre and they are already winning.

My tyre of choice when I bought new 17 inch wheels was the Yokohama A539.

It's a great motor, I believe it has been taken up to 400bhp. Mine is just 180bhp though.

You are entitled to MY opinion J!!

If Firestone was so great, why do they have to pay hundreds of millions for failures identical to mine to settle the largest law suit ever against a tire manufacturer????

Bridgestone suck arse meat.

Hey Jason, why don't you try a set of Michelin's for your ride and then telll me Japanese tires (WORST) are better?

I tried most brands and ALWAYS came back to Michelin. I will NEVERbuy another brand of tire for as long as I live. I put Michelin X1 on my Pontiac. They were rated for UNLIMITED miles with traction rating "A" in all environments.... They were on my car to the day I sold it and had 7/10's of their tread left after 130,000 miles.....

Lemme see Yokohama or ANY brand do that.

Why do you always think what you choose is the best and only you have the correct information, you are a friggin adult for gods sake GROW UP.

You were completely wrong about the pneumatic tyre inventor yet you attempt to reword the question, Michelin are NOT the best tyre, there is no best, all tyre manufatures are up to a quality standard or they would not be allowed on the road.

I think Ferrari know more about tyres than you ever will and if they have chosen Bridgestone for this years Formula 1 then they are good enough for me.

Shall we compare your tyre research to Ferrari's ?

"INDIO, Calif. (Reuters) - Days after settling a $149 million class action in Texas, Bridgestone/Firestone goes to court on Wednesday in California to try to stop what could become the nation's largest-ever class-action lawsuit claiming the tire maker allowed lethal defects in its heavy-duty tires.

Joseph Lisoni, a Pasadena, California, lawyer, has waged a 20-month battle to force the tire maker to recall about 41 million Steeltex R4S, R4SII and A/T tires and to reimburse those who bought them -- at a cost of about $3 billion."

3 Billion... yeah, they are great... HAHAHAHA Jesus, LETHAL DEFECTS... and that HAPPENED to MY WIFE AND CHILD!! Thank god the SUV did not flip over!!

Ummmm NEEVER has there been a Michelin recall like that. I am going to research and see if there EVER was any recall of their FANTASTIC tyres

Oh yeah ONE MORE LITTLE thing!! RACING TIRES ARE NOT STREET TIRES!!!! THEY ARE NOT EVEN MANUFACTURED THE SAME!!

http://www.reuters.com/locales/newsArticle...storyID=4583290

BTW Bridgestone make deals with F1 teams and practically give their crap tires to them
Jason
Ferrari are the leader in Formula 1, they have won for the last few seasons so they would only pick what they consider to be the best tyre.

Just did a search for Michelin law suits - great tyre manufacturer thumbup1.gif

I would like to see 100% undeniable proof on the below because I do not belive it :

agreed....

BTW, I really do lIke most Goodyear tires and I had a set of BF Goodrich Comp T/A's that lasted for 70,000 miles with nary a problem either....

Michelin's are indeed not the BEST as I said, but they are indeed among the best I have ever experienced.

They have had recalls in their day but nothing like that Firestone deal. My wife was terrified when the sidewall was completely severed at 75 MPH on the highway.. in a curve no less.. thank you god for letting that happen to only the rear tire! my god, they both could have died if it were a front tire.....
