i open it up, and rather then having text in the menu, its just one big block thing,
also when i get in the game cos i found my way around, the grfx is dodgy. Ive got a 32mg DDR GF2mx onboard, i know its a good game but it dont work for me, i got the Direct X 8.1 and all but still no go.

did you mean GTA3? (Grand Theft Auto 3) or GT3 (Grand Turismo 3) both games a very well done, and fun to play.

if you read the readme like i always do (only when i have problems ) you will find a link, hell i will go get it for you.

go download that and install, it should fix the text problem.

and i bet you tried to get a higher benchmark score? so you disabled the table fog function in the direct 3d settings.. ? well go and enable it.. it should fix dodgey gfx (grey textures etc.)

Yea GTA 3 is great! I just played it for a good 3 hours. I got the the 2nd part (Stranton Island I think it's called?) So much fun! You got all the sports cars, limos, mini-van, and SUV's you could ever want. PLUS some. Great stuff...

I've already beaten it like six times on PS2. It is my favorite 3d game of all time. Followed by Zelda: Link to the Past being 2d.

I installed that patch, well that microshiat hotfix thing and boy o boy it worked. I had to run at 800x600 32bit and for about 20min it runs like a dream then after 20min it goes blocky.
Nevertheless that 20min is fantastic

ok, so i got around that grafix bug in winxp for gta3... however i cant load any of my saved games!!! it keeps complainin about some unhandled exception.... whats the point in playing if i cant laod my saved games???

the problem only exists in the deviance release of gta3. if you go out and actually pay for it you shouldnt have a problem.

however, i might know of a fix. try a pm

i havnt tried doing much with the money ive earnt...... what is it there for anyway? dont like the idea of having the money for no reason (apart from picking up hookers, which doesnt really count anyway since u can beat them up and get a partial refund)...

oh yeah, and for getting guns... which are pretty cheap anyway...
repairing cars, repainting - cheap....
buying cars? if thats possible, but whts the point, the whole point of the game is to steal cars init?

money is like a score. well thats what i think... you get money for doing stunts.. instead of points...

if you are only just into the game there is a mission there where you require $100k to complete, you get your money back but you must have it in order to do the mission

im only up to the 2nd city so im not too sure if there is any real use for $$$ but buying cars would be pretty fkn pointless, i go through a car every 5 minutes
