My Netgear RP114 router bit the big one. It would no longer get an IP from the modem.

Got a Belkin to replace it. So far so good. Easy setup.

darn it! I thought Netgear were supposed to be good.
I have had NO problems with my Addtron
that thing is tiny, ultra light, and requires NO cooling. runs 24x7x365 for the last 3 years
hope the Belkin lasts ya this time. Hey! wasn't your Netgear under warranty?

bah! I am still partial to Linksys. with Netgear comng a close second. DLink sucks ass. I learned the hard way.

I have only used SMC cus I wanted a company that knew a lil more then Linksys or netgear...

One PC...
One Ether card for each network you have access to...

And you can do ANYTHING you need along the lines of routing, traffic shaping etc...

I use a Linksys (BEFSX41 w/firewall) and I have a spare just in case -- Linksys BEFSR41.

Hmm, Nice that it's available for those that really need it. But running an extra PC with multiple nic's is overkill for most home networks.
your basic NAT box router does the job for most of us.
If you consider the energy cost of running a pc 24/7/365 compared to a basic router, you could quickly buy a more deluxe configurable rules-based router
